Mod The Sims - Family Secrets [Update: 2024/01/01]

The Settings Menu for the Family Secrets mod can be accessed in-game through City Hall, and allows players to fine-tune how they wish to play:

Cuckoo - Discovery: True[%]/False
Select whether Cuckoo attempts can be discovered by the birth parent’s partner, and if so, the base rate of discovery. When enabled, Sims’ ability to discover Cuckoo attempts are affected by their logic skill, relationship with the birth parent, as well as certain traits.

Cuckoo - Reveal Parent: True[%]/False
Select whether Cuckoo attempts, when discovered, can result in the true parent being identified, and if so, the base chance of the birth parent’s partner identifying the true parent. When the NPC Decisions setting (below) is enabled, Sims’ likelihood of publicly revealing the true parent is affected by their relationship with both the birth parent and true parent, as well as certain traits.

Public Reaction: True/False
Select whether Sims will react to decisions made by player and NPC sims. When enabled, partners and family members will react negatively when a Sim engages in affairs, denies their own children, is discovered to be attempting to Cuckoo other Sims, or other ill-mannered actions.

NPC Decisions: True/False
Select whether NPC Sims can make weighted decisions on matters of parentage, based on their skills, traits, and relationships. When disabled, NPC Sims will always attempt to Cuckoo their partner when engaged in affairs, will always elect to reveal the true parent when a Cuckoo attempt is discovered, and will never deny parentage of their own children.

Same-Sex Pregnancy: True/False
Select whether the Family Secrets mod should account for the possibility of same-sex pregnancies in its decision-making process. When enabled, the Cuckoo action will become available for a wider range of partner types. This option does not enable same-sex pregnancies, but will work with other mods that do.

LTR Cutoff: Undefined/Partner/Fiancee/Spouse
Select whether the Family Secrets mod should skip decision-making for faithful pregnancies at or above a particular Long-Term Relationship level. Example: when LTR Cutoff is set to “Fiancee”, a Sim with a long-term partner at either the “Fiancee” or “Spouse” level will not receive decision prompts when a child is born between themself and their committed partner.
