Nice sim even though he looks pretty much exactly like your other male sims. Why do you make them with huge noses? I guess that's just your style. Thanks.

Charmaine06, I don't know if you ever noticed, but negros actually have wide noses. -.-

I think he's totally awesome! Really cool!

Don't hate me for my negative personality... It's in the blood.

I wasn't trying to post anything negative or to offend. Black people don't particularly care for the term "negro". Matter-of-fact, I find it rather offensive. It's better to use African American or black. Also, all black people don't have wide noses. Wide noses come in all "races" (this topic again), not only the AA one. I'm black myself, so I should know first hand. I don't have a wide nose and I don't see too many black people (or any other people) with noses that huge. That's why I asked that question. Also, jay makes all his male sims with large honkers when that's not a good representation of AA people; that's more stereotypical and not diverse at all IMO.

Anyway, great sims besides the great similarities and huge noses jay.

He makes his sims however he wants and if they pass MTS2 guidelines, who are you to question that? I appreciate seeing others giving constructive criticsm, but your comment was unnecessary as the way he makes his sims is a matter of HIS taste and if you don't like it, no one forces you to download or look at the creations he posts.

Anyway. Thanks Jay, it's nice to see my race represented consistently by at least one MTS2 creator.

Thanks tallulahjane I appreciate you & everyone else sticking up for me. But the whole thing is getting a little too silly & the new modthesims rules state that if you don't have anything nice to say then don't post a comment. So please, no more constructive criticisms!!

Oh boy, here we go.........!!
Jay, I love anything you do. Keep up the good work. Malik is similar to your other male sims but he is gorgeous, none the less. Thank you for sharing.
I just can't resist......... I am Negro, African American, Black - I accept all these terms - not preferring one to the other. I have a big nose. I love my nose. I love my lips, hips, butt, and hair. And I am beautiful. I prefer my sims to look like me and the men (and women) that I find attractive and sexy. Jay obviously shares that opinion. I think more people like his sims than not - nose and all.

btw - you can download the sim and adjust the nose and anything else you don't care for with BodyShop and Jay would never know!

Gawd, I'm loving S3!!

Not all people have English as a native language and know the difference between the terms. And not all black people are African American - most of them are Africans.

I was only asking a simple question. Are we not allowed that anymore? I don't see many black people at all with such humongous noses so I wanted to know why he made his male sims like that. That's not criticism; only a question. He can make his sims just the way he wants. I'm not trying to control him by asking a question. I never said that I didn't like his sims.

Feel free to let people call you anything they want. I'm not living in the past. Maybe you're from an older generation (no offense). Personally, negro is an offensive term and that's not what I am. I don't find gigantic noses attractive at all and I feel most of the population agrees. Jay's sims are good, but not everyone will like every single part of a sim, no matter whether the person can make changes or not. I don't need any sims since I don't play the game, but I still have the right to make comments. I don't see anything offensive about my first posted comment.

Well, it's good to give them information so they won't offend others. Yes, I know all black people are not AA. There's nothing you can tell me about black people that I don't already know.

Jay, I apologize if I offended you. That was not my intention. I was only curious to know why you make all of your male sims with large noses. Why not give your female sims large noses also? Your sims are good and appreciated.

Why are you doing this here, you've not only offended me but I feel embarrassed by this continuing in my post. I'm sorry if my trade mark work offend's you, but I refuse to use the ugly maxis default noses on my sims. And I guess you over looked one of my sims " Damon " , he does not have a large nose as you would say. I think Malik will be the last male sim I'll be posting here for a while. If you don't want to offend me then you won't continue this anymore!

Dear jayurban,
please, don't let yourself be screwed up about the unimportant failure of one person! There are so many people out here who are thankful that talented creators like you share their work for free, this point can't be said often enough. All your sims are absolutely beautiful, and your work is highly appreciated!

We should pay our respect to every creator who takes the pain to upload his creations, if it's to our taste or not. IMHO.

I'm personally quite glad to see jayurban's black sims uploaded here. We get a lot of white or white-ish sims uploaded here, a lot of fantasy elf type stuff, but every few black sims - and even fewer that actually look like black people do. Black people do tend to have, in general (obviously not every person but in general), wider, flatter noses than average, and jayurban's men reflect that beautifully. Between that and the thicker lips with a wide outside curve on the top edge (another distinctive feature), they look like real black men to me. Stereotypes usually become stereotypes because they contain a grain of truth within them - but this sim isn't presented as a caricature of a black man, but Malik, who looks like a distinctive individual with strong physical traits of his racial heritage.

There's nothing stopping anyone from changing the sims once they get them into their game - I tend to tweak sims to my liking anyway, so if you want this (or any other of jayurban's beautiful black men) with a bit narrower nose or whatever, that's easy enough to fix.

Continuing to nitpick what is clearly an intentional feature of a sim that may not be to your taste but still has its own merit - especially having no uploads of one's own - is bad form. I hope that individuals posting to this thread will keep that in mind in future, and recognize the artistry that's gone into these sims... perhaps making their own sims for upload if they have their own preferences that are not satisfied here. If the preceding statement is not taken to heart, I suppose I shall have no choice but to get out my whackin' stick.
