Nice work! I know I'll put the children's easel to good use.

A good idea ! This is a simple way to vary paintings in the game. Thank you KariMinger.

Hats off to your staff of tireless painters, that was well worth it ;-) Great idea and sorely needed, thank you so much!

Very good, thanks. It opens also the possibility of "discrimination" (I like to make objects available for groups), in the case I can make the Kids esel to be used only by kids. Thanks for that.
I only hope now that someone comes with an automatical sell off (most of the time I keep only the final "expert" painting level and would like that they sold the "tests" ones self).

So, when my sim uses the "digital" easel, he will paint "digital" paintings, and with the "blues" easel they will be "blues" paintings? Wow, you're a genius! I didn't know this is possible. I appreciate your work a lot, finally my famous artists can have their own style! yay!

edit: It requieres pets No wonder it made my game crash (tested not before today) I hope you succeed in making it base game compatible.

I'm actually excited about these. Thank you, I can't wait to try them out in-game.

Yes. Each easel pulls paintings from its own canvas package. Currently, there isn't a way to link more than 12 paintings to a canvas, but it should be possible. I just didn't want to tackle that yet!

Very good and beautiful idea! Thank you very much.
You are right - the old paintings are a little bit boring now.
There are some default ones, but not in this great variety.
Thank and your painters you once again.

Ack, found an error on the kids easel. Now fixed. One silly line in the BHAV I forgot to change was making sims jump who tried to interact with it.

This is a terrific idea, and I will enjoy using it on my larger computer with most of the expansions on it. However, I will not be able to use the easels on my OFB-only computer because it crashes that setup. I did a little research, and found that the objects require Pets. If you want them to be base-game compatible, you'll have to remove the "scratch" and "chew" options for them.

There's a tutorial for that here: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=193642 But if you do it, the easels won't have the ability to make custom paintings. ("Custom" in this case meaning from the "Paintings" folder in the My Documents\Sims 2 folder.)

Always choose short hairstyles for your clothing models!
My Sims 1 stuff is still available, because some still play the original game.

Darn. Forgot about those, thanks Dawn. I'll change the listing for now and see about removing scratch and chew. Honestly, I wouldn't miss those options myself.

I think that may be a problem with the kid easels for my game. Whenever anyone tries to paint on it, the interaction gets canceled when they try to paint. So... I'm assuming that they'll be able to paint now?

I'm still not able to use the Kids Easel. I get an error every time I try.

Hmm. Just in case, I've repackaged and reattached the easel I've been using in game. It's been working with no issues for me. It's possible I didn't replace the file correctly last time, so I did name it (the .rar, not the package file) differently to make sure it's definitely not the old one!

The kid's easel is the only one still not working for me. I put it in the game, and when a sim goes to use it the action cancels out and the sim jumps back from the easel. The only difference I find (in-game) about the kid easel from the other easels are the fact that it's named the same as the regular easel and is the same price, where-as the others are not. I don't know if that has any difference of significance, but I would really love to use it.

Thanks.

And you have redownloaded the file (since 11/8), correct? What EP's are you using?

There really is nothing different between the easels, once correctly coded. Initially, the kid easel wasn't. Long story short, I'd not fixed all the references in the BHAV and the darned thing didn't know which end was up when trying to create a new canvas. The file I uploaded last night is the fixed file, straight from my game, which is working in my game just as the others.

This is an amazing feature! Thanks so much for doing this! Would be great to see more themed easels released in the future (gothic, fantasy, sci-fi, romantic, still life, etc).

The only "problem" I see with the sets is that all the paintings are equally good in quality (visually, to us that is). Though that tends to be the case with all custom painting sets.

Scratch that, something's wrong. I'm wondering if I did something to the files in my game when I recently uninstalled/reinstalled BV. The canvases package for the kids easel has gone poof. Actually, it has for all the easels in my game...but that doesn't affect anything since these files are still here. Pulling the kids easel for the moment. I'll update it. Sorry, kids! :P

EDIT: Ok, fixed. Just play-tested and seems to be working fine.

This is genius! It's sort of like the default replacements, but better -- because you can have even more options when painting. You're absolutely amazing, thank you so much for this. <3

My only issue is the fact that the Impressionist paintings don't line up like they're supposed to, since there's white borders around the edges of the paintings. That's probably just an aesthetics thing though. :]
