I think that's an empty lot... Also you can see the houses from far away because that's a new feature of the Sims 2 Night Life expantion pack

I have nightlife and it doesnt show that.

Awwwwwwwwwwwww! My poor ickle alien boy had no "pet" to play with till now! The twins (one boy one girl) got the teddy and the cc teddy in a pink bunny suit, but I had nothing to give to the alien, Sydney, who recently age transitioned to child. Woot! He gets to have something of his very own to carry around!
