Default Help--shiny, patent leather
How do I make a texture "glossy" or shiny looking? I've tried the dodge tool, but it still looks dull. Any tips?

For example, like this:

Appreciate the help! :bandit:

In SimPE you can alter the reflectivity and shinyness in the texture definitions, I believe you must alter these to get it to show up in game....however I could be wrong.

Read the following thread, I think the suggestions work for clothing meshes but you would have to try.

Default Thanks!
Hey, appreciate the info and link. I thought it was going to be something as simple as a photoshop trick, guess not! Oh well. I'll have to get more Simpe-sophisticated at some point.

This fellow here seems to only use photoshop and carefully copy his textures from a good digital photo containing shiny clothes.

I think he did a great job.

Hmm...for some reason I can't access that page. Says i don't have permission. Thanks for the link though. At some point I'm going to need to learn Simpe, so far I've just done what I could do in photoshop, and I've made some cool things, but it gets boring.

I think I'm going to download SimPE today. Any tips on which version to download? I'm not going to make meshes or new objects. Just recolors and body shop. Main or Light version? Will I need the optional downloads like photostudio?

Again, thanks.

Default Here is a screen pic
He used a photo to copy and paste the fabric, shinyness and all, and pasted it into his texture file in photoshop.

Yes, that's more of what I had in mind. The SimPE is great for those who can figure it out, I'm just not one of them. Thanks!
