Default Help with arched bridges
I finally got the nerve to try this, I really hate that floor elevation cheat; scares me half to death. However, I wanted an arched bridge for a Japanese home (heard that every Japanese has to have one or you die a slow and painful death LOL). Anyway, after about 300 years I finally got the arch part even. Hurrah. Wrong. The minute I put the water under it, it went flat. Tried both turning the cheat off and on, didn't make any difference. Help? Thanks in advance!

Use terrain paints to put in the water -- gives you more freedom & control for how the banks & terrain at the interface look too. Use move_objects to put in the water lilies and cattails.

This was all done with terrains

If you don't already have some suitable ones for the water, try komosims.net . That is where most (probably all) that I used on this house came from.

1)First of all, you need to choose where your bridge will go.
2)Then make it with the foundation with the stilts or pylons. (sure you know all this already)
3)After that, place the floor tile type you are going to use on it.
4)Then the fence along both sides of bridge.
5)After that, add the stairs to both ends.
6)Go down to ground level till you can only see the pylons/stilts, then take the swimming pool tool and drag whilst holding down Ctrl, over the entire area of where the foundation stilts are. This takes out the pylons, as they can look ugly sometimes.
7)After this (you have to turn on the constrain floor cheat I'm afraid) turn on the cheat, constrainfloorelevation false.
8)Then begin to raise the terain under your bridge by nice little increments, so you have a nice arch that sims can walk over.
9)After you have done this, Turn off the cheat by typing in constrainfloorelevation True. This has to be turned off now!
10)Make sure you are at ground level, then grab your level terain tool, and choose a flat area near by to start from.
Drag this across and over the area you had previously raised.
11)Then go up a level so you can see your nicely arched bridge
All done!
Hope this helps.

Woops... I forgot to mention, after the last step, you may now use your water tool to add water.

Thank you all so much! I never thought of those options, will try again. It's tough getting the bridge even, isn't it? Practice makes perfect!

First of all, do you have Sims@ Pack Clean Installer? If not you can get it from here.....
http://sims2pack.modthesims2.com/
There are links at the left hand side of that page where you can read the manual to the Clean Installer, also there is a FAQ to read.
When you have Clean Installer installed on your PC, you should just be able to double click your downloaded item......then the Clean Installer will appear.....just click on install!! You shouldnt have to change anything in Clean Installer if it was installed correctly

Hope this helps
