Default Sideways Garage Templates
Want a sideways garage but still cannot figure out how? I decided to create a new thread featuring 6 different lot sizes with sideways garages already built on them. The larger lots have double garages. Just delete what you don't want.

The attachment includes the following lot sizes:
3x1, 3x2, 4x4, 2x2, 2x3, 3x3 (The 3x3 lot has a double sideways garage as well as a single facing the street - as pictured below). If you require a siedways garage for another size lot just give me a PM and I will do it for you.
Note: I have all EP's. (If my game ever crashes again...I will make templates with the Base game and NL - but I pray that does not happen any time soon).

Happy Simming

Thanks for the lot templates. I appreciate them. I suck at advanced building of anything. :P

I have NF and OFB installed no pets after downloading your templates and went to buy then they were a ungodly price like $700,000.00 each? Am i'm missing something? the only way I could get them to install was to use clean install, Is OFB the issues?

thanks thoe for the templates

They are pets templates, but it is easy to redo : when you see the lot from the road
when you place the lot :
for the back of the car left side <--sun must come from left back corner
for the back of the car back side <-- sun must come from right back corner
for the back of the car right side <-- sun must come from right front corner
left front corner --> no change

to do that : move... on just put a tile on the right corner on the oposite side of the road (where you are looking from in my example) and all new drive way rotate.

You know a site allowing re-upload of free build/buy stuff in lots ? Help us to update the list !

I love building huge houses, and unfortunately, I cannot get your tutorial to work for me. Do you think you could make templates for the larger lots? I would REALLY appreciate it!

Are there any templates for AL? And do the templates still work if one uses the lots adjuster?

You shouldn't need special templates for AL; the only thing that really matters is the sun direction and the game should be able to convert lots from previous EPs to work with AL, since they aren't really Pets-specific.

Yes, the templates should work with the LotAdjuster, so you can expand them to be any size that you'd like. This is fairly easy to test, just backup your neighborhood and use the LotAdjuster; then let us know if there's a problem.

Okay, just how do you do anything with the sun? I'm not quite clear on that. I have looked for buttons, options, and such for controlling the sun, and can't find them. Am I missing something?? I ask cause I'm tryin to build a 4 unit apartment with sideways garages.

The sun direction for a lot is set when the lot is created. So, it is basically fixed for any lot.

When you place a new empty lot, notice the direction that you are placing it in the neighborhood. Then, edit the lot and build a wall to check whether the sun is where you want it. If not, delete the lot and place a new lot in a different direction in the neighborhood (for example, if you originally placed it with the road at the top of the screen, try placing it with the road to the right). You'll obviously need to place it in a different location. However, once a lot has been created, the sun direction is fixed and you can then move and rotate it to where you want it.

aelflaed has a tutorial for changing the edge which is considered the "front" of the lot. This can sometimes be used to change the sun direction, but will not change the sun direction relative to any existing buildings. Let me find you that link... Here it is:

Rotating an existing built lot is not currently possible, although it is something that I have on my to-do list. If you are interesting in following the progress, you can check out this thread:

Existing lot not possible?? Ouch. Guess I should have waited on getting started, lol. No biggy, right? Some lots can be practice, lol. After hours of tinkering and such, I have the layout down, so recreating it should be much quicker.

Believe me, we've all had this kind of problem. The limitations of the game often seem quite arbitrary.
