How? Oh, pulled the palest Maxis skin out of Bodyshop, and then tweaked the colours in Corel Painter. I'd've done it in Adobe Photoshop, but the only copy of Photoshop I have is back in england on my other computer (bah!). XD Basic, adjusting the hue of the skin is dead easy, you just set the adjust to a colour you like, and then repeat for every single other file. Takes a while, rather dull, but veeery easy.

The detailing is slightly harder - depends how good your 'Shop skills are. ;P Had to do it in Corel Painter though. Basically, I grabbed some fractals ('cause they have amazing, subtle, delicate swooshy patterns) and copied a piece and mirrored it so it was symmetrical around a centre point. Then selected it, dumped it over the top of the skin file (did the face first, the back and chest detail later) - and made the new layer more transparent so I could line it up easily. Then add a layer mask and with a very soft acrylic brush in Painter, paint over on the mask to blend the edges in.

Pretty much all of the face files (bar the face attached to the baby body) are the same size, so after you've done one face a bit of cut-and-pasting does them all identically. Same for the bodies, except that two of the bodies (the baby and the child, I think?) are smaller files, so required a little bit of manipulation to get right. All in all, pretty easy, and not a patch on Enayla's work which I'm fairly certain is entirely hand-painted.

You've seen her deviantart paintings, right? Man, that woman is basically my hero. XD My digital paintings aren't a patch on hers... but I'm still practising! I figure you've got to have something to strive for in life - always try and get better.

Thanks for your comments! Glad you like it! :D

Y'know what's stupid, though? This morning, my computer died - I'm posting from a laptop atm. Sadly, had to reformat the harddrive, so I've lost my Sims, my mods, my Oblivion game, a whole bunch of my paintings, everything. GAH.

Soon as it's fixed I'll be redownloading my own mods. How stupid is that? XD

The designs look rather like Enayla's pixie Orchid coloured skin, It's almost a recolour

...is that an accusation?

If it was a recolour, I'd've said it was a recolour. It isn't, I made it from scratch - and I don't appreciate your "recolour" comment, since it took me around five or six hours to get this done, possibly more. FYI, the fractal I used for the design is located here: http://www.sgeier.net/fractals - it's the black and green one, called Theta Space. I mirrored it and adjusted it. And if you check the site's terms of use regarding the fractals, I'm well within my rights to use this to create my own thing.

So no, it doesn't look much like Enayla's pixie Orchid skin, at all. Maybe from a distance - but certainly not up close. Oh, it's a fae skin - but it's more of a homage to her work, and certainly not a recolour in any sense. As I stated in my initial post, I made this from one of Maxis' original skins, the palest pink one - and that's exactly what I did.

Perhaps in the future you might take a closer look before posting barbed, accusatory comments, please? Ta.

Thank you so much Eli, just one comment like that makes it all worthwhile! You've made me all happy and grinny, hee! :D

It was a lot of fun to make, really - though time consuming. I might make more in the future, not sure yet. I'm a complete novice at this kind of thing, though I'd love to try my hand at some more complex things, like meshes. Eeep! I'd probably suck at it, maybe not. XD

I think they ment this as a complement rather than a accusation. This skin is fantastic, great work! :D

To have someone confuse your work with Enayla's is, in my view, a pretty big compliment. Well done!! Are you going to do more skintones??..I cant wait to see some more

Misery Gloom - you're probably right. I was way too touchy there, a bit embarrassing really. Thanks - you've given me a bit of perspective. And thanks for the compliment too!

Thanks for all other positive comments too! Though I can't possibly agree this is the same quality as Enayla's work - she handpaints even the tinest detailing - you should see the noses on her face skins! Incredible stuff! Her paintings are just amazing, photorealistic, and though I think I did okay I'm not quite that good yet.

It's so nice to hear people like this though. Thank you! :D

Your skin is sweet! I love how delicate the paterns are; it's a really good effect. I'm trying to make a sim film, and I think I'll use your skin... if you'll let me that is. I'll put you in the credits.

Any way... I love the skin. You should do more!

Great skin, pixieface Enayla is my favourite skin creator, and what could I say? Your skintone is soooo pretty! I gotta say, (and it comes right from my heart), that this skintone is just-like-Enayla-did-it. Awesome!! Thanka again for sharing :D

Inicol - you're more than welcome to use it for whatever you like! I'm just glad you like it!

Dae - Thanks as well! I don't agree that it looks like an Enayla skin in anything more than the odd shade and delicate patterns, and that's just Graphics Program trickery, nothing very accomplished. But thank you for the compliment!
