Hey for my first uploaded lot I want to change the color of the pond to a blood red. I have seen Targa's water mods here but she didn't have a red version. I didn't want to bother her with a PM so I tried the WCIF here which didn't help so I'm thinking of trying it myself. But I have no experience in any modding apart from building, It's just this feature would be perfect for the lot. Can anyone specify what it would involve? What type of mod it is and any ideas? Cause I'm prepared to do it myself but can't find the infomation. I'm guessing it would be the same idea as gwillewyn's blood bath water here

Hi there Sims&Slayer666. I'm just a newbie to the modding world yet, but i think i can make a comment.

The idea of modding the water pond wouldn't be quite the same as modding the bath tub water. The Bath tub is a independent object and the red water in it was probably done just by recoloring it, and changing some material and texture definitions.
The water pond isn't a regular object, and it is the same for every lot and every pond. Just like Targa's Pond Water mod did, if you change the color of the water, it will be changed in every pond in your game.

But if you want this anyway, you can download the targa's pond water mod (look if it is compatible with your game, because i had to retire this mod after pets), open it in SimPE and recolor it.

As linolino has stated out, the graphical presentation of the pond by the water tool @ build mode is not like an object like the bathtub that takes only recolouring of the texture.
Indeed, it is as shown by Targa that it's the codes in material shader that decides on water colouration.
I don't think I know enough to teach a person to alter a material shader coz I'm still learning a bit of it.

I don't know if every Targa's mod have sttoped working since pets, probably not every one.
But the Pond Water mod was making the pets get sunken into the ground everytime they tried to sleep.

Ahhh I see, thanks guys! I recolored my first object last night so I'm gonna have a shot at it I know I can't upload the lot with a Global-mod in it but it'll be good for photos plus I can just move it out of my downloads folder. Sorry for the late reply- helping renovate my house ...if only it was as easy as TS2

Just my further curiosity, did you get an error log according to the suggestion(s) from this thread? If so, can you post it please? Thanks in advance anyway regardless of what you decide to do.

you want an error log of the sunken pet? or you just want me to confirm if it is really the pond mod that was causing it?
I'll have to search my folders in my computer back home for that hack, because I removed it right after pets came out.

If there's one, that sounds good to post it out. But if not, that's OK to ignore my little want. I don't mean to ask someone to crash a game purposely to get an error log when one is not really having a problem.

a red water version for series is out for try-as-you-like. No pets version for the pond water mod series is out yet.
So, presently, There're only the base game version and the SS version.

I've made some unaltered updates on Targa's pond water mods... All credits still belong to Targa. The act of the update is just to extend Targa's mods to other EPs.
