deadly_love - In answer to your question, a real door needs to be assigned to a wall and the bars are not a wall. Also, walls go along the edge of a tile, whereas these bars go in the center of a tile. So even if you put up one section of wall and put a door in it, it wont be lined up with the rest of the cage. Also, for a door to animate properly, you have to keep the existing vertices. The cage door is a whole new set of vertices.
If I really wanted to, I could rework the bars so they go along the edge of a tile, make them as tall as a wall, raise the ceiling tiles to match the height of the bars, and recolor a regular door to make it look like shiny metal, so that one could put a one tile width of wall with a door in it that would line up along the sides and top of the bars. But, after I got this far, I had to ask myself what good is a cage that someone can stroll out of whenever they want, anyway? So I left it as is.

wow, thats so cool. i think it should just use a gate, it would be easier, but you couldn't get it to fit.

Wow, you really come up with some interesting ideas! Thank you for these. Will my Sims clasp the bars pathetically as they beg for mercy?
