those are great, Boblishman! if you make them any longer (like to fit the sliding door), then you've essentially made the blinds in my house. i hate those blinds (because it came with the house when we bought it). however, i think these blinds will do nicely in my Sims' homes.

I know one or two of the testers from the closed beta testing group worked out how to link the objects for the diagonal walls so I`ll look through the forum see if I can find what they did , or contact them to find out.

Another thing you might want to think about to improve these blinds is using the process in the following thread, make it so there are two gmdc files in the package, one with the blinds opened and one closed, so the sims can open and close the blinds.

Hi Miche,

I did contact Madvanman about this and he sent me the following ....

"once you have the two working objects it is just a matter of changing the diagonal GUID reference in the 'object data' in the normal package to point at the GUID of the 'diagonal master' GUID in your diagonal package.
then change the 'Grid aligned' GUID reference in the 'object data' in the diagonal package to point to the main GUID in the normal package."

**** UPDATE 25th FEB****

Took me a while to understand what he meant...but ...hey! ...it works (see new pic of my original curtains) ....so, now I know what to do, I'll get cracking to fix everything....should be a couple of days. I'm having problems with these vertical blind recolours reverting back to my original white texture on the diagonals ....once that's fixed then I'll repost new files for all.....

As for the open/close ....I'll be looking straight after this post .... what a cool idea!!

*** UPDATE** Just read the post about open/close ....think I need a brain transplant before I can attempt creating new GMDC files.... :werd:

thanks miche
