You did a good job!I think the biggest reason people have such a hard time making him is because of the "cragginess" of his features(except on him its gorgeous,no fair!).It's too bad there isn't a way to "rough up" a sims skin texture.But yours is definatley the closest I've seen.

Absolutely wonderful! A very dashing man. I'mm going to find a skin/hair and make Ichabod from Sleepy Hollow. I'm sure I can. After all, If I upload somewhere, I will credit you. Don't worry.
